In the past I was randomly harsh and then randomly complimentary regarding morning show host Star of Power 105’s Star and Bucwild show. I don’t have much to say on the specific incident that got him fired since I didn’t hear it. I will say though that radio in NY will be worse off for his absence.
Star was often full of shit and sometimes too quick to run off at the mouth. But he was also an interesting character who on occasion hated on an industry deserving of hate, questioned the status quo and delivered hip-hop radio that at least didn’t have complete tunnel vision.
Meanwhile, (one time Star sidekick) Miss Jones rejoiced today on her unbearably bad Hot 97 show. Hooray, a victory for psychic friends, unfunny prank phone calls, and people who thought Def Comedy Jam should have done a little more “black people are like this but white people are like this” type material.

On point, Rafi! I think what Star did was really bad, but the dude is really smart and calls out a lot of bullshit that other radio types glorify.
