I think I’m going to have to actually buy a copy of XXL now.

Must finish reading this behind the scenes look at the making of Reasonable Doubt…

There’s this quote from Ski about getting paid for the tracks with bookbags full of cash:


When I got paid for these records on Reasonable Doubt I used to go to Dame’s crib, and I remember them giving me a book bag just full of money.

I used to just get on the train. If niggas knew I had thousands of dollars in a backpack…

It reminded me of walking through Manhattan years back with money for my wife’s engagement ring. As I was barely working at the time it was money I really didn’t have to spend on such things . It’s scary but the high risk is kind of exciting…. Just like the rest of that whole process was.

Anyway this feature looks dope and I’m going to do the unthinkable and by a hip-hop mag.

  1. Betraying how much of a nerd I am here… I had that exact same feeling when I went to Las Vegas for the first time with $400 in my pocket – more cash than I’d ever held in my lifetime. What’s nerdy about having a fistfull of bucks in Vegas you say? I didn’t gamble with it – I WENT TO A VIDEO GAME CONVENTION – and yes I blew every last dime and had to hit up the ATM for another C!

    I want to buy this issue of XXL but I have a hard time finding any bookstores in this town that will keep it on the rack. Last time I tried both Borders and Barnes & Noble and neither had it.

  2. Suffice it to say that that both Reasonable Doubt and this issue of XXL will do Eminem numbers for sure.

    It’s like YN keeps all these golden cards, for when things start plummeting. Plus, folks would be fresh out the 10th anniversary show in New York so, they’ll want to catch up on the behind-the-scenes.
