A funny thing about the conversation is that it pre-dates the existence of the Oh Word site by like 6 months to year. Clearly an idea worth holding on to.
And it also shows how a future SOHH blogger was actually instrumental to the creation of Wu-Peanuts! We’ll keep that on the lo-lo though….

I could have sworn that during this conversation I insisted that Raekwon was Charlie Brown because he rocked the “same damn ‘Lo sweater” but maybe I’m taking credit away from someone else? Memory is odd, I don’t remember being the one who first dropped “It’s Pea-nuts Muthaphuckas!”

^ You definitely came up with that but it may have been when we were already revisiting the idea of how to do the strip for Oh Word?
Or maybe it just fell outside of this excerpt of the original conversation.
And yeah memory is weird.. I could easily see it being either of those even though those two chats would have been many months apart.

it’s crazy how long we sat on the idea without doing anything with it. i didn’t sketch out the initial characters for months after that conversation and even then it was months until the strips finally popped off. probably because it took me so fucking long to get raekwon’s likeness down. i’m glad people enjoy them. based on Wu history it will only be a matter of time before Masta Killa knocks me out for making them so to the Wu and Wu fans, it’s all love so don’t get it twisted.
