BoingBoing reports that RE/Search will be putting out a 2nd Pranks book almost 20 years after the first one. The original yellow-covered book was one of my favorites as a teen. Will a new book hold as much impact in today’s world where alternative / counter culture has gone mainstream and the internet provides every individual the chance to be the media? We shall see…
Tribute-less
Friday was the 5th anniversary of Aaliyah’s passing. I meant to post a link to the heartfelt Jay-Z remix of “I Miss You” hosted at Smoking Section and also add Count Bass D’s haunting “August 25, 2001” off the Dwight Spitz album.
An effective, emotionally resonant tribute song is a rare thing and Aaliyah has at least two of them in her memory.
Unfortunately I forced my copy of Dwight Spitz on Cas immediately after our last video shoot and it looks like the Smoking Section audio link is broken. If anyone has either of these, post them up por favor.
