“Weapon X”
They’re back, sissies! And frankly, it’s about time. After Brother J. caught wreck on Def Poetry Jam I knew it was only a matter of time before “X-Clan” (at this point basically Dark Sun Riders 2.0, but that’s good enough) returned to banish wack ignorant souls to the essence and push conscious minds eastward.
Well, in any event, the beat knocks and Brother J. is still spitting with fury.
Peep the data:
From the album “Return From Mecca” Instores 10/31/2006. For more infomation on X-Clan check out www.xclanmusic.com www.myspace.com/xclanmusic www.suburbannoizerecords.com
Anyone else eagerly anticipating this album?
This definitely bumps.
10/31 is also the release date for Sean Price and Clipse. Save your pennies!

Brother J is the man, but it ain’t X Clan without Professor X. Great track though.

Sean Price, The Clipse, X-Clan all on the same day? Is it Official Eastcoast rap fan tuesday or something? AND the Stones Throw tour is passing through my town?
Illest fucking Halloween of all time.

Damn, I cannot wait. Just heard about X-Clan returning a few days ago. This is just awesome. Seems like they are based on the West Coast not if I’m not mistaken (at least Bro J). I figured this when he did tracks with Mikah 9, and DJ Fat Jack (I’m over-joyed with the fact that he’s part of this new X-Clan project).

yea, well, Chali 2na from Jurassic 5 was in that video. The video was probably SHOT near LA, where Jurassic’s based…

Dey’s back, fo sho!
— Goliano Aug 30, 11:08 PM
Im sorry but this is terrible. The beat is an absolutely horrible replaying of “Call me D-Nice”
I cant even listen to the rhymes because the beat sounds like garbage truck trying to start.
— GO14 Aug 31, 10:44 AM
Most of the beats on the first X-Clan album were really obvious samples, straight loops. This really isn’t any different.
By the way, it’s not a replayed sample of “Call Me D-Nice.” It’s a replayed sample of “Buzzsaw” by the Turtles.
— David Aug 31, 01:36 PM
real rap’s back on track…fuck the dumbshit!
— eldee Sep 1, 12:07 AM
Turtles, D-Nice it doesnt matter. How they replayed it sounds like shit. Bottom line.
Production in 2006 should be a tad different than 1989. To the East, Blackwards was made when despite using a lot of straight up loops it sounded fresh and original. It was stuff like To the East, Blackwards that got me beat digging and collecting. The bar’s been raised.
Hell, cats today still pull out drum breaks and loops and still sounds better than the trash replayed for this song.
Xodus was straight up beatjacking of alot other rap songs which is one of the reasons why it wasnt well recieved at the time. It was as lazy as all these mixtapes cats put out nowadays.

Call it loops or whatever you want,I like the song. Once again we have been blessed with positive, social consience rap.It has came at the right time also, where todays rap has taken materialism and exploitation to a all time high. This song is a breath of fresh air
