You have just under four hours to get your votes in over at the Black Weblog Awards.
I was planning to post here campaigning for best writing nominee Dallas Penn but really what’s the point. It doesn’t matter.
And I say that not because, like Bol or a modern day HL Mencken, I just couldn’t care less.
And not because, like noz, I’ve come to accept that anything hip-hop related is constituted of gimmicks and suckiness.
I say it because on August 26, eleven days into the voting, the BWAs casually announced at their blog:
Oh yeah, and we dropped that “you can vote only once” rule for the finalists, mainly because of the feedback we received once the finalists were announced. Already, we’ve received 4735 votes as of this post. Keep it coming!
lol @ “Oh yeah” ... “by the by…”
Hm, maybe it is the same thing noz said after all. When white people change the rules of a vote while it’s in progress we have the good sense to at least keep that a secret.
It’s been at least five days since they started taking unlimited votes from people and so your vote really doesn’t have much of a chance of impacting things one way or the other. I hope you didn’t vote early when it was still one vote to a person!
But anyway please support Dallas Penn in the best writing category if you are some kind of wizbang script-writer. Your programming know-how has the power to do real good here.
Eff Dallas Penn in the A!
