Abraham says “up yours Idolator!”
So Gawker has launched the long anticipated music blog Idolator.
It was a bad sign when their “manifesto” dissed music bloggers far and wide then claimed “we aim to be discerning, but not snobby.” Hipster please! At least cop to your true nature.
On Day 2 they went after Pitchfork. I feel that our toes are being stepped on here.
You’re not showing me much Idolator. A lot of bravado but you’re all balls, no cock and you’re not fucking it right.
I thought it had already been established in the comments of Sean F’s kind post how much the world needs another snarky rap indie rock blog.
We’re sure we don’t have to explain that DeKalb Avenue reference to you Idolator.
Our toes are being more than stepped on. I’m furious.
that site is MY bitch.
although to their credit, at least they write stuff that makes me mad. Idolator just seems milktoast.

The thing about blogs like Idolator is that what good does it do to just complain about Pitchfork? They should be doing something about the supposed state of music journalism. Don’t just whine and moan and snark—that’s the gimmick of more than enough bloggers and music “journalists” already. Put out great content for the love of the game and the rest will come.
The sad fact, though, is that Idolator will find an immediate and likely steady audience and cats trying to break into the game still struggle to get their work read by their mommas.
