    i don’t get this. trying to lessen the value of a GFK record by dissing MF DOOM’s tendancy to continually recycle his beats doesn’t make much sense. it’s just what DOOM does.

  2. I didn’t think that this was a “dis” at all.

    Admittedly, it does get tiresome hearing the same DOOM beats two and sometimes three times over. Makes you wish he’d get in the lab and whip up some fresh herbs and spices.

    And even if that’s “just what DOOM does,” you have to admit that that’s a pretty terrible aesthetic.

  4. Statement retracted. I just realized (like a moron) that if DOOM can sell heads the same beat time and time again more power to him. At least Ghost is reusing decent beats; maybe Mos Def could take a lesson from him and stop freestyling over played out jams like “The Takeover.”

  7. Does it matter that the beats are re-used, if the respective songs are of the quality of “9 Mili” and “1..2 1…2”?

    And I’m glad he’s doing it when the beat’s as good as the one for Gun’s n’ Razors; I rarely listen to the skits on Mm…Food, and the recycling of it onto Mor Fish reminded me of what a dope beat it is.
