So you thought that the folks at OhWord merely wrote articles and reviews, penned blog entries, conducted exclusive interviews, made short films, and drew elaborate pictures?
Chile, please … there’s more than initially meets the eye, folks. Some of us dabble in music, too. Here’s a little freebie for the readers: a song I recorded as a little promotional joint for the site.

Engineering: Alfredo and Adam
Back Story: Martin sends me the beat by private message on a message board we both frequent. Randomly. I ask him if I can use it for an ohword.com promo and he’s cool with it. I call up my audio scientist homies Alfredo the Unemployable and Adam the Aging Hair Rocker and we record it and tweak it up lovely.
Why would a website get its own promo song? Well, since fewer and fewer people seem to give a fuck about college radio these days, it also appears that people are increasinly reliant on websites and blogs to get their rap music fix. Thus, OhWord is now soliciting promos! You gotta little flow, some cool beats? Send them to us at submissions@ohword.com . You don’t have to big us up in every bar but one little shout would be appreciated. Why not get some free publicity just for giving some free publicity? Sounds fair to me. DJs and MCs … get busy!

absolutely love this joint, mainly because it’s confident in completely disregarding the stale ass mindstate of most modern rap while still managing to move the genre forward on the low. hopefully others follow suit and take note.
