You already know the RIAA DJ Drama raid story (unless you’re willfully ignoring it). But in any case:

2006 – the year in weed carriers. Don’t sleep on it.
Crooklyns Classics returned this week after a little hiatus. This awesome Tribe post of theirs including tons of rarities and sample sources is from mid-December but it’s new to me.
Now you can add 50 Cent to the list (including myself, Cas, agent b, eskay, swift chancellor, RD, etc.) of people who liked Kingdom Come.
Ssh don’t tell puts us up on young singer Emily King. Ignore the Biggie remix and check the MySpace page.
Synchronicity! El Keter celebrates Ladybug Mecca just as we name her a top 5 Rap Milf.

New World War. Rizoh reflects on how Photoshop and web hacking are coming to represent the new skills for battling in hip-hop. I knew this day was coming!
A great 1986 mix from Bust the Facts, spotted by way of Unkut.
It’s after Christmas but bloggers are still in a giving mood. They’re giving out link love....
Joe Twist gives link love to a few places which is how I found out that Stretch Armstrong now has a blog. I see a lot of great stuff there already including old radio Stretch & Bobbito shows and this audio of Run on Mr. Magic’s show, rhyming over the My Melody beat.
Soul-Sides on trying to keep up with the volume of of album blogs out there (Rapidshare is Outta Control!). And gives link love a few places including Wake Your Daughter Up. WYDU does its own link-love post and frankly does the best job of the bunch by delivering a long list of quality blogs I’d never heard of before. Props to all 3 posters though. It’s nice to see those already doing it looking out for the newcomers.
Meanwhile those blogs linked to at WYDU had such goodies as Da Lench Mob’s Freedom Got an AK 12” (a personal favorite for me), this De La Soul interview, a nice mix of 1997 joints, and a list of 50 slept on music videos that we recycled here, among much more. I’m drowning in material now!
Have a good week everyone. We fly out to Utah tomorrow morning. I’ll probably be online from there but just not as much.
Peace!
I also liked Kingdom Come. A lot.

Oh, and enjoy Utah, it’s a great place! (dripping with sarcasm). Lived there for three years while I went to Univ Of Utah, hated the place.
There used to be a hip hop shop there though that had some good stuff, but that’s been 10 years. Worth a look though.

Damn Rafi, I also respect Kingdom Come but posting 50 Cent on Jay-Z over Jeff Changs stirring historical retrospect?
— Abe Beame Jan 19, 04:41 PM
Son, my G is too futuristic.
I linked to Chang’s Kingdom Come article two weeks ago
— Rafi Jan 19, 04:48 PM
hah hah, wow. Don’t know how I missed that. Respectfully withdrawn.

posting this comment from Dallas’s laptop. We’re in an airport in Phoenix waiting for our connecting flight.
Air travel is a bitch. Especially since we both missed the 6:15 am flight we were supposed to be on.

I just discover wordpress has stats, and I see a lot of people are visiting my blog pressrewind.wordpress.com through you. Thanks a lot for the plug ! It’s appreciated.

Count me as one of those who visited because of Oh Word. You keep digging through those old RapPages issues hard enough and you’re gonna find a letter or two I wrote to Harry Allen and Bobbito the Barber~!
