I am 30 years old today (no groundhog jokes please).
In case you haven’t heard, 30 is the new 20.
I’m doing web programming as a consultant for a non-profit in White Plains NY but my contract is up. So right now I’m sort of working with no guarantees about tomorrow. Having two kids and a Westchester mortgage to feed, this is a problem for me. So lets get down to business.
First of all, I can easily commute to Westchester, Southern CT and NYC. I also live on the Internets (I’m kind of a big deal on there) so I can telecommute to anywhere.
I was thinking a reverse outsourcing deal might make sense for an Indian tech company.
Sure you guys have cheap local programmers there but what about an expensive American who is one of the world’s premier web surfers? No real company is complete without a fat American. Think of me as your trophy dead-weight. You know, to show that your company has really made it and can afford those kinds of expenditures. I’m also great for morale. My contrarian example will make your hard-working Indian programmers feel at least a caste or two above me.
American companies shouldn’t feel left out. You have reason to bid on my services as well. Namely, my celebrity status. Imagine how you can impress Fortune 500 executives when you tell them that today they can play miniature golf with “this guy who met MC Hammer” or “Dallas Penn’s weed carrier”. You choose how to market it. That’s not really my thing…
Anyway, call me. I code in 65 languages and have ten years of experience in technologies that just emerged three years ago. Time magazine just named me their “Person of the Year”.
Did I mention I’ve met MC Hammer?
Not that I have any job opportunities for you (unless you’re willing to commute to Jersey every day…), but what languages can you program in? Just curious.

I try to avoid Jersey as a general rule in life but if it was for an amazing job I would.
As for languages, ok it’s not really 65 but.. ASP (classic and .NET), VB, VB.NET, PHP, Perl, Javascript, SQL (SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL)
And some familiarity with XSLT, C, C++, Java, Ruby on Rails
Ruby on Rails is what I’m messing with now in my free time. It’s great stuff.
Are you in IT or a programmer fresh?
