I know I’ve been posting new album covers rather than talking about new rap albums but at least something’s got me hyped about rap in 2007. From the sepia toned photo to the mob suits, nothing screams “I’m apologizing for that G-Unit shtick and bringing back that mid 90’s rawness” quite like this Return of the Mac flip, even if Alc kinda looks like a douche. The kicker here is that every track that’s leaked from the album has been uncontestable fire with Prodigy sounding like a bitter old drug addict (I mean that in a good way) and Alchemist finally delivering a cohesive full-length’s worth of beats. It’s enough to make me put down the Hyphy and Indie rock records and nod my head to New York beats like it’s 95 all over again. Hell, I may even spend my money on this.

Hope y’all are enjoying our 50 incredible rap songs, judging by our numbers (600 subscriptions!) we’re doing something right. Thanks for the love, we’ve got a bunch of interesting material on tap, some solo and some united like Voltron. And while I’m shouting folks out like a rapper at the Grammys, extra special props to Noz and Robbie for their contributions.

  2. Sacha, this record might be fire, but a recommendation from you is not like a recomendation from R.H.S. or Rafi. You are definitely the weak link in Oh Word lineup. Dude, you should really think about giving up hip-hop and sticking to indie rock and foreign films.
