I know many of you don’t care about this, but this post is for those that do.
I’ve been in this fantasy baseball keeper league that I’ve taken the title in over the past two years. So I’m going for the three-peat here and I must say that based on keepers I like what I have to build off of going into the draft. I sort of feel bad for my competition.
This is a 14 team, 5×5 mixed roto league. My keepers going into this draft will be: three top 10 players (Alex Rodriguez, Carlos Beltran, Ryan Howard), a top 25 player (Jimmy Rollins), a good – not great – starting pitcher who I think is about to break-out (Brett Myers) and talented youngsters with a lot of upside at positions where that’s often the best you can hope for (2b Howie Kendrick and closer JJ Putz).
Here’s the thing – this keeper league is not enough for me. Yeah, there’s some satisfaction in beating these guys every year but I want more.
Specifically I’m interested in joining 1) a money league where my obsessive tendencies about baseball stats can earn me some dough or 2) a league full of bloggers so that my defeat of the competition can also be enjoyed by the readers of various blogs. That’s just the showman in me.
I’m game for joining a money league with other bloggers that would fill both requirements. Or these could be two separate leagues.
Ok I’ve said my part… now you talk to me. Who’s down to start a blogger league? Who can tell me where to find some good money leagues?
Hallelujah, holla back boppers.
Oh brother! So now your already anemic posting will be further hornschwaggled by America’s pastime.
I will admit that your top three players make you the team to beat from the gate. Don’t sleep on Sheffield either. Remember his first season away from his previous employers is usually when he goes apeshit in the batters box.

I would def be down for a blogger Fantasy Baseball league for cash.

I’d be down

I’ve been playing since ‘99 and love baseball and fantasy baseball. Already got my 7 year league set up as a Yahoo plus league. I too am looking for another league.
I’d be down for a money league if it wasn’t more than $50 bucks a team. My poor college/intern lifestyle hinders anything more than that. I’d be down for a straight blogger team.
But for sure get at me, I definitely want to be down.

1 Rafi Fantasy Baseball post entitles me to 2 French rap posts, 1 Hyphy post or half an indie rock post.

I’d join a blogger fantasy baseball league, but I know shit about baseball.
That might attract you guys more though.

Cool. I’m glad to see there’s interest in the blogger league.
I think 14-16 teams is a good range for a mixed (AL and NL) league.
If we have more like 12 people or so we should probably just do 1 league.
I prefer roto over head-to-head for baseball. I also like the standard 5×5 categories but I’m open to other ideas.
What do you guys think?
— Rafi Feb 23, 05:43 PM
I’m cool with the 5×5 set up. I haven’t done a traditional Roto league for awhile, but I’m game for it. I’d prefer head 2 head, but whatever the masses want is fine with me.

A Blogger fantasy baseball league? Worlds colliding, I’d love it. The posts would be epic.

Dear Rafi,
please mix this with the keeper league I mentioned.
we have around 10 people interested from philaflava already.
we could get 16 easy.
talk to me!
— justin Feb 24, 11:02 PM
Bah Justin….
That would ruin the whole blogger league concept.
And I think a one-shot is better than a keeper league for our purposes.
Getting a dozen or more strangers to commit to a single baseball season is enough.
By the way J-Smooth and Jay Solis of hiphopmusic.com are both on-board. So that’s two more to add to those who’ve already posted here.
This thing is happening. Get in while you can.

SOHH’s Ron Mexico is also on-board.
It’s turning into an all-star cast here.
