i know this link has already been on every other hip-hop blog but maybe 1 or 2 of you hasn’t heard it yet.
in 2007 we have to take whatever great hip-hop moments we can get.
check this clip via onsmash of redman freestyling on dj green lantern’s show
when he’s done paul wall is scared to get on the mic. he tries to do his thing at first but he may as well be $hamrock at that moment. after an unsure few seconds paul quickly admits he can’t follow on the beat red murdered so he pulls a Bartleby.
“man, you can’t have me back over that.”
so instead redman “picks it up, picks it up” and gets back on the mic for another 90 seconds of dopeness.
way to rep for H-Town, Paul Wally

Anyone ever hear the session where the same thing happened with Sauce Money as Red and Method Man as Paul Wall on The Drama Hour? One of the craziest “freestyles” ever
— Abe Beame Mar 7, 11:38 AM
I think alot of rappers would’ve opted out after Red killed it the way he did. Its hard to follow that, no matter what Paul did he was gonna look like he sucked(because he does). Might as well try to find an excuse for how much you suck.

I love that Paul Wall had the temerity to shout “Paul Wall in the building” once Red was done.
— jon Mar 7, 12:08 PM
Wow. This proves something I’ve long believed. Paul Wall is a terrible MC. I wish more of these clowns got shown up like that. they don’t even know how to a handle a beat that moves that fast. Though, to be fair, Red just killed that. Who could compete with that? His mixtape was pretty dope too. Dude’s hungry as hell. Can’t wait to hear the new album.
— Jeff Mar 7, 02:09 PM
yeah. red shut it down. what’s dope is he new he was sonning Paul the whole time – but he was encouraging him to go for his. Real MCs – take note – it is time to END FAKE RAPPERS CAREERS.

Paul Wall IS Shamrock and that may not be a bad thing.
— coolout Mar 7, 02:45 PM
you guys are dissing paul wall. the thing is, he knows he isn’t the best mc. he is a good hustler, and he knows how to make his money, even though he can’t really rhyme. i mean hate it or love it, but you gotta respect it. i wish i could be a terrible programmer but still be able to get programmer bread.
— khal Mar 7, 03:20 PM
Khal: I assume that was sarcastic?
Regardless, that’s pretty embarrassing for Paul. He got his card pulled straight up and down. Eon’t hurt his career but hopefully it messes with his pride so comes up with a few more insect and candy paint metaphors.

I love Houston hip-hop, but I always found Paul Wall to be one of the most annoying dudes in current hip-hop. That just put a smile over my face.
Actually, hat just made me look forward to Red Gone Wild a lot more.

Sach: nah i wasn't being sarcasticall. i’m at the point in my life where if someone is out there eating, props to them. i mean, him fucking up on the mic is fucking hilarious, but we can’t act surprised when cats like Paul can’t rhyme. lol. and he does get his bread. i seen the grills he makes for cats, he MUST be making some good money off that.— khal Mar 9, 10:02 AM
I’m at the point in my life where I am hating on any one getting more money than me, especially those with no talent. And I’m not even a rapper.
This exchange was a microcosm of the new South and the old East Coast. One may sell, but that doesn’t mean a damn thing.

Damn, Reggie Noble still a beast!
