blender jeezy interview redux · by Rafi Kam

Doesn’t Jeezy look like he’s sticking his head through one of those novelty boards with silly bodies drawn on them?

This Blender interview with Jeezy and 2 of his weed carriers needed some more visuals.

***********

Atlanta motivation-rap pioneer Young Jeezy and two of his rhyming buddies, Blood Raw and Slick Pulla, make up USDA (United Streets D-Boys of America). As the posse’s first single—the Christina Aguilera-as-coke metaphor track “White Girl” (listen here)—starts to take off, we asked the guys about their new album, Cold Summer, and their favorite Caucasian females.

“You guys could’ve named any white girl on the single, why Christina Aguilera?”

“We’re in the hood, everybody want to holler at Christina.”

“Everybody.”

“She’s fine as a motherfucker.”

“Why not Paris Hilton?”

“I can’t fuck with Paris, she be higher than me. She do shit I don’t do.”

“Lindsay Lohan?”

“I don’t even know who the fuck that is.”

“You use a lot of different metaphors to describe certain things… “

“Describe what? Be clear baby.”

“Basically, are you worried about running out of white things to compare drugs to?”

“No man, I don’t think we’ll run out of anything. You don’t ever run out of being yourself. Yeah!”

“Your album is called Cold Summer, how cold are we talking about here?”

“As cold as it gets—you gonna need blankets and shit.”

“Cold like the Ice Age. As soon as you walk outside your body’s gonna be caged in a block of ice.”

“But then how will people buy the album?”

“They gonna put you on a freight and slide you into the store to get your CD. Then as soon as you walk out you freeze up again and they take you home and you put the album in the CD player.”

  1. It was great how the first episode of “Search For A New Pussycat Doll” featured hotpants and blowing chunks in equal measures.

Metaphor can be used to add meaning to points…or to disguise ignorance. I wonder which method Jeezy’s using…
