  7. Trip out – that’s some weird timing. I’ve been listening to this non-stop this week after neglecting it for years. The album really holds up. Although I do feel old every time I hear him say it’s “‘91”.

  8. You feel old; I was in junior high when Run-D.M.C. was telling people to rock their Adidas and Kurtis Blow was singing about America. It’s weird how much the hip-hop landscape changed by the time I finished S.H.I.T. in ’93; Ice Cube had already been in and left N.W.A., Afrocentric hip-hop had already risen up and fallen off, MC Lyte turned into a whack rip-off of Apache (and where’s he these days) and Public Enemy’s best days were already behind them.

  9. Off topic but the most relevant shit in my ipod at the minute is Klashnekoff – Lionheart : Tussle with the Beast. That album is brilliant UK hip-hop. Rafi or anyone of the OhWord clique holla at me and I’ll hit you up with the link, it is definitely worth a listen even if you only wanna hear the Kool G Rap, K-Lash collabo – Terrorise Ya City. Klash spits knowledge.
