  1. Muggs is definitely one of the underappreciated beat makers out there. Good lookin’ out.

  2. ^^^ummm, underappreciated? i don’t think so, Cypress has sold like 20 million records. Muggs was the shit. Anyhow, one good turn deserves another. Here’s a very dope track- “Mad Mad World” by Muggs’first group, 7A3. This track was on the Colors original motionpicture sdtrk. but also on their one and only album, ‘Coolin’ In Cali’

Stay tuned for my ‘ode to Colors!

    enjoy.

  4. Never been a huge fan of Muggs, but he does his thing. I liked the simple Goodie Mob and Call of The Wild tracks from the 1st Soul Assasins album.

yeah, underappreciated because his name isn’t usually seen when people start spouting the Dre’s, RZA’s, Premos, Pete Rocks, etc. And yes, Muggs is dope.

  6. If you’re not feelin’ that Mad Mad World joint, I don’t know what to tell you kid, it was produced in 1987, and still sounds dope.Peep game? That ‘Fat City’ track is ass. So was that entire Dust record,I think I used it as a coaster when I got it free from a label friend. Muggs sounds best when doing straight-up, hip-hop tracks. It’s well-known he loves Portishead and Massive Attack, but Geoff Barrow he is not.

  7. yea it was obvious it’s from back in the day, prob y i’m not likin it. and i posted that fat city track up strictly for the beat, i agree that the vocal doesn’t go along well with it. of course he’s no portis or massive, i know when that type of song comes together nice or not. see now i want to listen to mezzanine
