Getting to the Root of a problem · by Sach O

“Every record company has what they call a lyrics committee, where they screen lyrics to make sure they’re not against police, or gays, or Jews,” he said. “Well how come they’re clearing lyrics against blacks and women?”

I’m not advocating gay bashing or Jew bashing in the slightest (or lyrics against “blacks and women” for that matter though I’m pretty sure our standards differ), but perhaps if rappers were allowed to take their frustrations out on the true causes of the black community’s problems (systematic discrimination at the hands of law enforcement agencies and rich conservative white people, some of which own media conglomerates and record labels) they wouldn’t have nearly as much time to insult each other or “attack women”.

But once again, the old guard misses the point completely in its comical advocacy of systematic censorship. If Mr. Sharpton really wants a Motown comeback (how’s he feel about Amy Winehouse anyways?) maybe he could take on sample laws.

I’m just saying.

But I’m also shaking my head in despair.

Prison fodder has to start somewhere…
the jews are a scary bunch. Anybody remember the famous family guy episode “wish upon a weinstein” ? not that bad of an episode in comparison to later ones, but the fact that the whole show got canceled on the basis of that episode is some neo-orwellian shit.
If I got my sources straight…
