Talib Kweli – Ear Drum
Talib…just fucking knock it off already. If you were standing next to me I would roll up a newspaper and whack you with it repeatedly. Sit this one out, champ. You deserve a break.
And by deserve a break I mean please stop rapping.
M.I.A. – Kala
Christ on a raft just clicking the album cover is enough to make me wanna stab this ho/rip her vocal chords out. She is what Erykah Badu’s vagina would do if it had a microphone.
Josh Ritter – The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter
What in the name of all holy fuck is a Josh Ritter?? That’s the worst album cover I’ve ever seen. I see what you’re getting at here, captain innuendo, but no one is falling for it.
New Pornographers – Challengers
Is this a compliation of porn soundtrack songs? If it is, I need it in my life. If not, I’m fuckin furious about my emotions being toyed with.
Beyonce – Irreemplazable (8 track spanish version of “Irreplacable” plus other singles from her last album)
This is obviously 110% necessary. Unless there’s a dvd of her falling on her face in concert, I really see no point in listening to 900 versions of a song that makes no goddamned sense in English, nevermind Spanglish.
Cornel West and BMWMB (Black Men Who Mean Business) – Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations
holy shit this is serious business. i will say nothing about this because i kinda fear for my life a little bit.
Miles Davis featuring Nas and Santana – Evolution of the Groove
oh santana. you gotta simmer down with the duets, son. you arent frank sinatra. and seriously people just leave miles alone. im gonna pretend the other name isnt there.
Swizz Beats – One Man Band
oh fuck you.
Nanny Diaries Soundtrack
I already preordered 3 copies. This is sure to be a classic
This is really great, I hope we get this every week?

— cahly Aug 22, 09:04 PM
eauhellznaw, the New Pornographers is actually really, really good. All the middling reviews of it thus far I don’t understand.
Also, I love you Arlene.
— Renato Pagnani Aug 22, 10:12 PM
^^
I dunno.
I find their universally hyped albums to be hit or miss. Middling reviews are not a good sign….or it just means that they are no longer “hip” as the kids say.
— eauhellzgnaw Aug 22, 10:39 PM
Better than the New York Post’s attempts at reviewing music.
— Jay B Aug 22, 11:13 PM
Link plz
— Arlene Aug 22, 11:22 PM
Why the hate on Kweli? It’s a good album.
Far superior to that meh Prodigy album ohword is over-hyping as “album of the year”.
— NoMamesBuey Aug 23, 12:35 AM
Yeah, that Prodigy album makes me seriously question ya’lls taste-making abilities.
— Levi Aug 23, 02:57 PM
The Prodigy album is raw emceeing over raw beats. We fully understand that some people out there prefer Lil’ Wayne’s douchebaggery on wax, ringtone muppet minstrel jamborees, and/or granola hemp backpacker kumbaya crap. Opinions are like voices, we all have a different kind.
— R.H.S. Aug 23, 04:05 PM
Josh Ritter’s last album “Golden Age of Radio” was actually really good, if you like folk-rock music at all.
— rkm Aug 23, 04:53 PM
hahahaha @ swizz beatz
— ron mexico Aug 23, 06:06 PM

Wow, are you serious with that “Give it a break to Talib”? have you heard any of his singles or the joints that have been leaked already? Wow.. your lunchin on Eardrum…. Lost mad points in my book…
— DeWitz Aug 24, 09:12 PM
The Prodigy album is technically incompetent emceeing over raw beats. He has so little flow anymore it would be more honestly billed as a spoken word album with occasional rhyming. Now I like a few songs on it but really, you’re being blinded by nostalgia here.
— Tray Aug 25, 01:51 PM
abso-fuckin’-lutely my thoughts. Just compare ‘Return’ to early Mobb shit and then feel sad that this is supposedly “album of the year”. “I sit alone in my room starin’ at candles, high on drugs”?!! Stellar!
— Levi Aug 25, 03:41 PM
I officially certify esponses #19-20 in response to RHS’s comment #14, as an ethering.
In other words Tray & Levi just “murdered” RHS “on his own shit” (c) Nas
— The Ether Referree Aug 26, 02:06 AM
Yeah, a Geto Boys homage … the horror.
And yes, I definitely got ethered. I said the album was good, and two people said it wasn’t. OUCH!
— R.H.S. Aug 26, 07:10 AM
Am I the only one who appreciates the humor of Talib Kweli fans harping on a rapper for not putting enough words in his bars?
— Sach Aug 26, 12:42 PM
Talib’s songs are hit or miss, but that Prodigy album is just lazy, unfocused rhymes over lethargic beats. Maybe 50 Cent slipped him a mickey in the studio.
— Levi Aug 26, 04:42 PM
“Yeah, a Geto Boys homage … the horror.”
Time to review the tape, and reverse your call, Ether Ref.
— StupidFresh Aug 27, 02:30 PM
So the Prodigy is better than Monch?
— Amadeo Aug 28, 10:44 AM
Swizzy’s album is the GOAT of get stupid rap
— T.R.E.Y. Aug 29, 06:15 AM
I have nothing against paying homage to what’s easily one of the best songs in the genre ever, but pretending temper and burglar rhyme because they both end with the letter ‘r’ and rapping like this:
When I was 13 I had dreams
(Pauuuuuse)
Now I’m all grown up and living out my dreams
will NOT do. Maybe you could buy Prodigy a rhyming dictionary with the revenue from your Cam Rhymebook T-Shirt and he’ll actually make an album that’s actually deserving of your eloquent praise.
— Tray Aug 31, 05:12 PM
“Am I the only one who appreciates the humor of Talib Kweli fans harping on a rapper for not putting enough words in his bars?”
You know, I actually kinda like Eardrum, but hearing the first track start off with someone talk about “a revolution in syllables” is hilarious.
— jon Sep 1, 09:35 PM
i agree about the M I A review, that woman is crazy. Im brown and hate her music, no idea why it appeals to white people so much
