Talib Kweli – Ear Drum

Talib…just fucking knock it off already. If you were standing next to me I would roll up a newspaper and whack you with it repeatedly. Sit this one out, champ. You deserve a break.

And by deserve a break I mean please stop rapping.

M.I.A. – Kala

Christ on a raft just clicking the album cover is enough to make me wanna stab this ho/rip her vocal chords out. She is what Erykah Badu’s vagina would do if it had a microphone.

Josh Ritter – The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter

What in the name of all holy fuck is a Josh Ritter?? That’s the worst album cover I’ve ever seen. I see what you’re getting at here, captain innuendo, but no one is falling for it.

New Pornographers – Challengers

Is this a compliation of porn soundtrack songs? If it is, I need it in my life. If not, I’m fuckin furious about my emotions being toyed with.

Beyonce – Irreemplazable (8 track spanish version of “Irreplacable” plus other singles from her last album)

This is obviously 110% necessary. Unless there’s a dvd of her falling on her face in concert, I really see no point in listening to 900 versions of a song that makes no goddamned sense in English, nevermind Spanglish.

Cornel West and BMWMB (Black Men Who Mean Business) – Never Forget: A Journey of Revelations

holy shit this is serious business. i will say nothing about this because i kinda fear for my life a little bit.

Miles Davis featuring Nas and Santana – Evolution of the Groove

oh santana. you gotta simmer down with the duets, son. you arent frank sinatra. and seriously people just leave miles alone. im gonna pretend the other name isnt there.

Swizz Beats – One Man Band

oh fuck you.

Nanny Diaries Soundtrack

I already preordered 3 copies. This is sure to be a classic

    I dunno.

    I find their universally hyped albums to be hit or miss. Middling reviews are not a good sign….or it just means that they are no longer “hip” as the kids say.

  14. The Prodigy album is raw emceeing over raw beats. We fully understand that some people out there prefer Lil’ Wayne’s douchebaggery on wax, ringtone muppet minstrel jamborees, and/or granola hemp backpacker kumbaya crap. Opinions are like voices, we all have a different kind.

  19. The Prodigy album is technically incompetent emceeing over raw beats. He has so little flow anymore it would be more honestly billed as a spoken word album with occasional rhyming. Now I like a few songs on it but really, you’re being blinded by nostalgia here.

  28. I have nothing against paying homage to what’s easily one of the best songs in the genre ever, but pretending temper and burglar rhyme because they both end with the letter ‘r’ and rapping like this:

    When I was 13 I had dreams
    (Pauuuuuse)
    Now I’m all grown up and living out my dreams

    will NOT do. Maybe you could buy Prodigy a rhyming dictionary with the revenue from your Cam Rhymebook T-Shirt and he’ll actually make an album that’s actually deserving of your eloquent praise.
