Exclusive: Wu-Tang Clan - The Heart Gently Weeps · by Sach O

EXCLUSIVE, EXCLUSIVE, Exclusive, exclusive…

Wu-Tang Clan – The Heart Gently Weeps

Ripped from Loud’s website. Same sample as Ghost’s joint from a few years ago. Get it while the getting’s good because I won’t be around to update this post.

  1. Revenge of the sixth?

  2. Rae sounds completely depressed and uninspired on the Wu shit I’m hearing (this and Watch Yo Mouth). Ghost sounds a little better, but Meth really drops the best performance here. Kind of underwhelming considering the hype though. Plus with Deck, GZA, and Rae all sounding like death-bed riden cancer patients lately, I don’t know how high my hopes can be. Especially with Ghost’s presence being limited on the other tracks…

  4. It’s true that Rae isn’t as animated as normal, but I don’t know if these tracks warrant that kind of approach. I see this as more in the tradition of “Hollow Bones,” which was effective. I can see arguing that he doesn’t need to whisper rap to sound serious, but I don’t mind it at all, given the context.

I like this track, but they need to put a stop to the recycled beats. I know they’ve always done it, but it’s not wise to do now, when they’re trying to get people excited about new shit.

  8. Oh damn, I’ve fiending to hear this, only if QuickTime didn’t die on my pc a couple of years ago. 5 or 6 times I went to the QT/Apple sites and never found any info. If anyone can tell me, much appreciation.

  9. Seems classic Wu.. strong storytelling and the #1 thing in Hip-Hop is to sound like the coolest guy ya know!

  10. Eskay, I won’t lie: I honestly couldn’t believe I got something up before you.

  11. Song is solid.

    Ghostface bodies this track.

Yeah, I don’t know I feel like something is missing from Rae’s vocal.

    Its still ill though…

  15. man, raekwon has been sounding boring as fuck lately. ghost saves the track though

    — sbocs    Oct 4, 02:26 AM
  16. The recycled “My Guitar” beat ruins it for me.

    Perttu    Oct 4, 03:48 AM
  17. The actual song isn’t bad by any stretch. But the whole thing is kind of underwhelming considering the blogerati who have been priveledged to listen to the tentative album tracks have all stated that THIS is the standout. The W had several tracks that shitted on this… Iron Flag? Well, maybe that’s what we’re looking at really. An Iron Flag 2.0.

    B. Ware tha Siniq    Oct 4, 08:40 AM
  18. Yeah, I am a bit disapponited by this too. Rae does sound uninspried. And it does follow the tradition of Hollow Bones, but it defy aint as good as Hollow Bones. Ghost and Meth both seemed on point on this and Watch Yo Mouth making me think they really coming hard on this album. Maybe this will be Meth’s chance to finally make music on the level of his talent like he did on 36 Chambers, Tical, and to a lesser extent Blackout.

  19. john frusciante and dhani harrison on a wu track sounded much more exciting that this

but im not gonna hate, its chilll

  24. A round of apologies is in order here. It was a zshare file. My bad, family.
It was a zshare file. I think Rae does sound uninspired or too blunted. Ghost with the “he didn’t let go of the joint, so I bit him” was great and Meth does right closing it up.

    Jay B    Oct 7, 12:57 PM
  25. Yo, this isnt the actual track that will be on 8 diagrams. Notice that the beat is the exact same as Ghostface used on “my guitar”. Loud messed this up.

Dont worry tho, here’s two links for the real, album version of “the heart gently weeps”.
