“Ain’t Nothin but a Party” Megamix
You’d be hard pressed to notice thanks to Rafi and R.H.S. holding the spot down lovely for the past few weeks, but I’ve been getting my Killa Cam on for a minute, laying low and taking care of business. Life’s ill and with non-blog related projects coming up in 08, the haters among you can rejoice that I’ll be taking a back seat around here for a bit (shout out to Nikhil and the other OhWord alumni, official announcement coming soon).
But enough retirement talk, I’ll leave that to washed up rappers. I got my DJ on last weekend and since I had a laptop with Ableton in the house, I recorded the hour long set for your listening pleasure. The crowd had more hot chicks than boom-bap dinosaurs so don’t expect any rare Pete Rock remixes, but you know how we do: I ain’t spinning Souljah Boy either. If anything the mix of funk, rock, pop, Hyphy and classic rap will give you a good idea of where I’m at these days musically which might in turn explain the lack of posting.
